The Water Department consists of nine personnel who inspect, operate, and maintain all water pipelines, wells, pumps, and hydrants. The Water Department is required to take monthly samples at various locations throughout Kuna. They are also responsible for installing new water meters and recording water meter readings. All Water Department staff are license as distribution and treatment operators through Idaho Bureau of Occupational Licenses. Staff is on-call 24/7 to respond to water emergencies. We work hard to keep the drinking water safe for everyone.
The City of Kuna owns and operates several wells that provide potable drinking water to Kuna residents. Each well is vigorously maintained throughout the year to maximize the reliability of our water supply. Kuna has one of the newest water systems in the state and is one of the first cities to go wireless for water meter readings.
The City of Kuna monitors back-flow devices throughout the city. If you have a back-flow device, it should be tested by a licensed tester. Back-flow reports shall be sent to Clint DeYoung via email. If you have any questions or concerns, you may address them to the Public Works Department.
